The Slough Aspire Careers Event will provide an opportunity for students and parents from across the whole of the Slough and surrounding areas to engage with local businesses and find out about career opportunities, apprenticeships and training within the local area now or for the future. This has been organised in partnership with Slough Aspire and Learning to Work.
This 2 day event will be taking place on Wednesday 4th February - Thursday 5th February 2015 at The Centre, Farnham Road, Slough, SL1 4UT and around 60 employers, training and education providers and specialist advisers will be on hand in one place to offer information and practical help on getting ready for the world of work.
During the day on Wednesday 4th and all day Thursday 5th, around 1600 Year 9 students (13-14 year olds) in the Slough borough will attend with their schools and have the chance to ask questions, pick up ideas, listen to inspirational speakers plus make contact with potential employers. They can also get personal advice on how to put together a stand-out CV and polish up interview techniques.
On Wednesday 4th February from 3.00pm to 7.00pm the session will be open to students, parents and carers and to young people who may have left education and need help getting into work or Training. If you would like to attend this session please select the Open Session Ticket.
The official Launch of Elevate Slough will also be taking place on Wednesday 4 February at 3:00pm.
Elevate Slough is an exciting new project for young people aged 16 to 24 years which focuses on employment and skills training and in promoting more work experience, apprenticeships and job opportunities.
