MARS small

Learning to Work, in collaboration with Mars Wrigley and other like-minded organisations, would like to invite parents/carers to the first Slough Parents' Apprenticeship Evening.

With an ever-changing job market, giving career advice to your children is certainly a difficult task.

A survey from the National Apprenticeship Service found that 87% of parents give careers advice to their children, but as many as 90% don’t feel equipped to give it in the first place. The top three sectors that people still associate with apprenticeships are construction, electrical, and plumbing – but in reality, there is much more available.

We are not suggesting that apprenticeships are for everyone, but we do want to work with parents and carers to ensure that you are fully equipped with the latest information. By coming along to this event you will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore why apprenticeships are a viable alternative to university
  • Understand more about the many apprenticeship opportunities available
  • Be introduced to main local employment growth areas
  • Meet local employers looking to recruit apprentices
  • Participate in a Q&A session to hear first-hand from both businesses and apprentices

We also have Learning to Work’s Level 6 Careers Practitioners available to support you to:-

Book your free ticket now and join us on the 15th October 2019 at 6pm.
