Event description

Description

The Slow Film Festival returns to Mayfield on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of October. The contemplative, experimental programme sheds light on the margins of society, and reflects upon duration and our relationship with nature and the city.

Alongside the usual screenings of international short films there will be an exhibition of work by moving image artist, Scott Barley, and a new strand of feature films from filmmakers such as Babette Mangolte, Daniel & Clara and Aleksandra Niemczyk. The screenings will be accompanied by Q&As, slow food courtesy of The Pink Cabbage, and an after party at the Rose and Crown Pub on Saturday 19th October. There will also be the possiblity of attending a Walking Cinema Seminar on Sunday the 20th of October.

For those travelling from London, catch the 09:45 train from Charing Cross (also calling at Waterloo East and London Bridge) to Wadhurst Station on Saturday 19th / Sunday 20th October. An SFF Coach will take you from the station to Mayfield. The SFF Coach will also return you to Wadhurst station for the 21.29 train back to London.

For any festival goers wishing to stay the night on Saturday 19th October, a local hall with facilities is available. Please do register interest in advance. Sleeping bags and sleeping mats are a necessity.
