Slow Ways: Cymru | Wales
Event Information
About this event
Join us for this special Zoom to learn more about Slow Ways and how you can get involved in Wales.
Slow Ways is an initiative to create a network of walking routes that connect all of Great Britain's towns and cities as well as thousands of villages.
Using existing footpaths, people will be able to use #SlowWays to walk between neighbouring places or combine routes for long distance journeys.
In Wales they connect Swansea to Bangor, The Brecon Beacons to Snowdonia and Aberystwyth to Merthyr Tydfil. They also link to the rest of Wales and onwards to England and the north of Scotland.
So far volunteers have contributed 8,000 routes to the initiative. While these first Slow Ways walking routes have been plotted on maps, we now need to check, review and verify them all.
With over 120,000km to review across Great Britain, we're putting a call out for people from across the country to help by going for a walk.
