Description
100 STRANGE SOUNDS
Practice and consistency makes a better artist. I wanted become a better elec- tronic musician, so I made one hundred videos of original live electronic music over the period of 1.5 years. It was a slow and somewhat painful process, and it exposed my limits fairly quickly. From that desperate moment, I discovered new language and instruments that reinvigorated my composition and performance practice. I would like to share processes and techniques learned in doing 100 Strange Sounds (www.100strangesounds.com)
in this workshop. Participants will have hands-on experiences with tools such as electromagnetic pickup, no- input mixer, contact microphones, and free DSP software. By the end of the workshop, I hope that the participants learn new techniques and aesthetics to make everyday objects sound strange and beautiful.
