Small stories in association with Bristol Festival of Literature, Wizards Tower Press & BristolCon present:

An evening with Ann & Jeff VanderMeer

Calling all short story aficionados, Time Travellers, Steampunkers, Weirdmongers and Purveyors of Rare and Discredited Diseases. Small Stories have teamed up with Bristol Festival of Literature, Wizards Tower Press & BristolCon to bring you an evening with husband and wife publishing powerhouses Ann & Jeff VanderMeer.

Ann & Jeff will be in conversation with Cheryl Morgan and will be answering those short story questions you've always wanted to ask an award winning editor and author. There will also be a chance to get your books signed.

Ann VanderMeer is an acquiring fiction editor for Tor.com. She was the editor-in-chief for Weird Tales for five years, for which she won the Hugo Award. She also has won a World Fantasy and British Fantasy Award for co-editing The Weird. Other projects have included the Best American Fantasy series. Her latest anthology is The Time Traveler’s Almanac.

Jeff VanderMeer's most recent fiction is the NYT-bestselling Southern Reach trilogy (Annihilation, Authority, and Acceptance), all released in 2014. His Wonderbook, won the BSFA Award & Locus award for best nonfiction. VanderMeer has edited or coedited twelve fiction anthologies and serves as the co-director of Shared Worlds, a unique teen SF/fantasy writing camp located at Wofford College. Previous novels include the Ambergris Cycle, with nonfiction titles including Booklife and The Steampunk Bible.

Cheryl Morgan is an editor and critic, and the winner of four Hugo Awards. She is the owner of Wizard's Tower Press, and regularly interviews authors for the Women's Outlook show on Ujima Radio.
