Event description

Description

This session is for parents/carers/guardians who would like to know more about how the home environment influences academic outcomes for (primary age) children.

Whilst this session is inspired by extensive research evidence into the power of parental engagement to transform learning, the evening will have a practical focus. Dr Weston will share 'real life' case studies relating to children who may not have been progressing in school, and discuss strategies that parents successfully applied to boost academic outcomes. She will also discuss how parents can extend the abilities of a very able child.

Parents lead hectic, busy lives and Dr Weston's aim is to help them understand that even the smallest of changes at home can have a magical impact on a child's ability to thrive at school.

Spaces are limited to 40 attendees so that parents are given time and space to ask questions that relate to their own child and receive bespoke tips and advice.

Please note: all attendees will be expected to complete a short survey before coming along that will help Dr Weston plan the session.

Early booking is recommended.
