About this event

The Red Balloon

Can a film be poetic? Take inspiration from this 1956 Oscar winning short film and create your own poetry.  Our film follows the adventures of Pascal, a young Parisian boy who discovers a red balloon one morning, and soon finds that it has a will of its own!

Shown as part of the Inspire Poetry Festival 2025, the film will be shown in the main library at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm.  Sign up for your Free Tickets on Eventbrite to receive reminders about the event but families are welcome to drop in during the day when children will be encouraged to create their own poetry book.

Limited formal seating will be available

Suitable for ages 5+
