Description

I have great pleasure in extending a personal invitation to participate in our Smart Agri-Systems Industrial Strategy Workshop at the University of Leeds’ Weetwood Hall Estate on Monday 4th June 2018.

Smart Agri-Systems is a solutions-focussed, integrated WHOLE SYSTEM approach to business critical challenges, enabling wider societal and economic impact that is tailored to meet the needs of your business. The Smart Agri-Systems approach:

  • Supports business operations and strategy

  • Provides confidence in complex decision making

  • Enables industry partners to realise their competitive advantage

We provide a broad spectrum of expertise in on-farm monitoring, energy, waste, ecosystem services, Earth observation, supply chain tracking, data analytics, operational decisions, social sciences, governance and business forecasting. We bring together experts from across the University to identify system risks, target margin gains, adapt practices, select and create technologies, assess performance, and prioritise actions.

The workshop on June 4th 2018 will provide you with a unique opportunity to define key challenges that affect your industry. You will engage with academics and other partners to identify specific advances and research and innovation strategies that will provide solutions. Our aim for the day is to match industry-led challenges with multi-disciplinary innovation teams who will work with you to identify actions that will deliver Smart Agri-Systems solutions. The expected outcomes are an industry-defined programme of research and innovation and prioritised projects that address the needs of your organisation. The UK government is investing £90M of research and innovation support into the Agrifood sector to transform food production through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Innovation advisors will be available on the day to offer guidance on accessing this funding for your Smart Agri-Systems solutions.

The workshop is free to attend and will include lunch and refreshments in the delightful surroundings of our Weetwood Hall Estate. To register your attendance please complete your details online on our Eventbrite page

Agenda

Aim: Present the University of Leeds commercial research and innovation (R&I) in Smart Agri-Systems; identify priority areas for industry-led research and innovation; and develop a pipeline of projects that will be prioritised for delivery with University of Leeds.
