Event description
Smart Citizens Design & Make # 1 training course in Fab Lab Plymouth to design and make almost anything using digital design and fabrication

About this Event

Smart Citizens Design & Make #1 is an opportunity for people to learn to use Autodesk’s Fusion 360 software - a really intuitive CAD/CAM package that allows users to design and make products - from conception through to production.

Held at Fab Lab Plymouth, the course includes learning various software design functions through a tutor-led project, as well as developing a personal project.

It’s relevant to all profiles and industries - from manufacturing jewellery in the Fab Lab, to using CAD/CAM in architecture, toys and tech - digital design and manufacturing is adaptable to so many careers and pathways.

Our Smart Citizens Design & Make #1 Training will allow participants to:

- learn how to design objects, products, artwork in 2D/3D using Fusion 360

- understand how to make your own objects using high tech digital fabrication machines such as 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, Vinyl Cutters and Milling Machines

- access Fab Lab Plymouth facilities and equipment

This training is suitable for beginners and intermediate levels and will take place physically in Fab Lab Plymouth, in compliance with the social distancing rules with a small group of 6 participants. The duration of the training is 6 weeks with weekly 2.5-hour session including a break. Computers and material will be provided by Fab Lab Plymouth and Plymouth College of Art.

At the end of the training, participants will be accredited with a Smart Citizen digital badge that can be added to your CV, email signature or LinkedIn profile to highlight your new skills in digital design and fabrication.
