Smarter Tickets: Smarter Travel Seminar (Edinburgh)

Purpose of the event: This event is being hosted by Transport Scotland, NECPO (National Entitilement Card Programme Office) and Young Scot. This event is being repeated on the 28th of March in Glasgow for partners from the west of Scotland.
The half day seminar provides insight into three smart ticketing initiatives currently taking place across Scotland, focused on improving outcomes for young people: Student Bursary Travel in Dundee, School Transport in East Lothian and Employability Smart Travel in Renfrewshire.
The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of these initiatives, the benefits they bring and what steps you could take to establish them in your area.
Who's it for: Local Authorities, Colleges and Universities
Strategic Context: Smart Ticketing, utilising the Young Scot National Entitlement Card, presents significant opportunities to local authorities, colleges and universities in Scotland. Smart ticketing is effective in tackling inequalities, increasing young people's mobility in an efficient, non-stigmatising way leading to benefits in terms of educational attainment, health and wellbeing and employment. Smart ticketing also has the potential to being savings through use based invoicing.
