Local, The Charity for Civil Servants and Civil Service HR are delivering a series of sessions around Smarter Working and your Wellbeing.

Smarter Working helps us to focus on making the right decisions for where, when and how we work. It helps us to optimise technology and the best uses of our workplaces and spaces. By working smartly, we can appreciate a better work-life balance to support our own health and well being.

Tuesday 30th November at 10.30am - 11:15am

Change Session

The Change Session will look at The Charity for Civil Servants Wellbeing App which provides a guide to supporting Civil Servants Wellbeing through times of change. There will also be an opportunity to hear from Sara from the Government Property Agency's Smarter Working Programme, and how the reflective change playbook can help individuals and teams to pause, take a breath and think about what future ways of working look like. The session will include a guest speaker who as a civil servant, will share their personal experience of change over the last 12 months.

Staying Connected

CS Local and The Charity for Civil Servants warmly welcome you to join the Staying Connected session to find out how you can use Festive Fundraising to keep in touch with your colleagues and have fun, no matter where you are based! The session will also focus on what opportunities there are within the Civil Service to ‘keep you connected’, and will include a guest speaker who will share their personal experience and hints and tips as to how to avoid Isolation.

Digital Wellbeing

The way we work has changed immensely. Flexible work patterns have made our lives unpredictable while increasing our reliance on digital technology to help us stay connected.

Using simple tips like setting aside time in your working day to take a screen break to give your eyes a rest, can help you stay fresh and focused. The Charity for Civil Servants will explore resources within the Smarter Working for your Wellbeing Hub that can help to prevent digital distraction and support your digital wellbeing.

Work life Balance

A good work-life balance involves taking control and making time for the things that matter to you. Working smarter and creating boundaries between work and leisure, helps reduce stress, prevent burnout, and create a healthy work environment. The Charity for Civil Servants will explore resources within the Smarter Working for your Wellbeing Hub that can help you to balance your work and home life in a way that works for you.

In this session, you will also have an opportunity to hear from Civil Servant Simon Crane whose interest in Wellbeing led to him teaching a mindfulness programme and launching the Connect 5 training programme for line managers in 2018,
