“SmarTomorrow - Co-creation Q&A lab for the smarter cities of tomorrow"

About this Event

On October 9th, 2019 in Brussels, SmarTomorrow participatory Q&A lab will be launched as EWRC’s session, open for debate, dialog, partnering and co-creation.

Science, knowledge, data-driven innovation are critical to build-up climate friendly, environmentally responsible, socially valuable, citizen-centric cities. New challenges to design, create, procure and integrate solutions are emerging.

This co-creation Q&A lab looks for new, fresh, positive and inspiring ideas! 

The city of Vilnius, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and IrRADIARE, Science for Evolution invite all public authorities, businesses, technologists, universities, researchers to discuss today's problems and potential solutions. 

During this project lab, Smart City key-challenges such as: climate, energy, data, housing, (urban) space, water, waste, mobility, work, and people and community centric urban life are going to be discussed. 

Besides with introductory addresses, floor is open to questions, debate and remarks from the audience. Project ideas are expected to target upcoming H2020 calls open to cities together with universities, research institutions and, in general, the innovation ecosystem. Please intervene, your views are very much welcome!

Topics for discussion are as follow:

I – Digital technologies

II – Energy technologies

III – Mobility technologies

IV – Urban environment

V – Social and cultural innovation

In order to provide participants with a lively overview of different cases, lessons and experiences, the presentations of invited speakers are limited to 10-15 min. Thus, most of the questions from the audience are expected to be asked during the debate part.Strategic networking relates to the need to establish long term cooperation relations. That is often the case when urban governance, innovation, smartification are the topics and strengthening public policies’ scientific density. The room is open for networking after the Q&A lab. 

The session includes an elected politician from the city of Vilnius, demonstrating the city’s strategy and plans for how to become smarter, more open, sustainable and innovative.

This project lab, being organized during EUWRC 2019 in Brussels, will provide a unique meeting spot for smart city sectors and innovative ideas to be gathered.
