About this Event

As part of the SMIA's innovation-led development programme, designed to help nurture business talent and build infrastructure in Scotland's music industry, we will be hosting this free entry 'Introduction to Music Publishing' workshop at Creative East End in Glasgow, taking place on Thursday 30th January 10am - 12pm. There will also be an opportunity to stick around for a coffee and a chat afterwards!

About the Workshop

Do you work in music? Ever wondered what a music publisher actually does? What can a publisher do for you? When is the right time to get a music publisher?

The workshop will cover the fundamentals of music publishing in 2020.

Join Kayleigh McLaughlan and Susan Montgomery of 23rd Precinct as they answer your questions on songwriting and the wider world of music publishing. They’ll be on hand to answer any burning questions about licensing, synchronisations, co-writing, collaborations, songwriting camps, tracking money and anything else publishing related.

23rd Precinct Music Publishing was established in 1992 and grew out of the 23rd Precinct record shop in Glasgow. Created to support the launch of the store’s own record label ‘Limbo Records’, 23rd Precinct achieved substantial success throughout the 90’s and up to the present day.
