Join the Scottish Music Industry Association and the Music Producers Guild (MPG) for a special evening looking at the art and business of music production.

Taking place at the CCA, this free entry event will include a panel and discussion which will look at how the world of music production is evolving as well as its success and its challenges with a range of producers behind some of the country's biggest hit records and artists.

Following the discussion, there will be networking drinks, where attendees can meet our panelists, learn more about the SMIA and the MPG and share their own thoughts on the topics discussed throughout the night.

· Andrew Hunt

Producer/ Engineer/ Mixer/ Writer/ Musician

Based in East London, as a musician and artist Andrew Hunt has shared stages with Mike Scott and Marcella Detroit, had publishing and production deals with J. Albert & Sons and Bird & Bush and since moving behind the desk, worked alongside Grammy winners’ Jimmy Hogarth, Cameron Craig and Mick Glossop.

Winner of the 2017 MPG Breakthrough Producer Of The Year award and host of BBC1’s tv show ‘This Is My Song’, recent projects include Fuzz Skyler, Gengahr and Jonathon Holder & The Good Thinking.

· Dan Cox

Producer/ Engineer/ Mixer/ Executive Director of the Music Producers Guild

Dan Cox is a record producer, recording engineer and mix engineer hailing from Hackney, East London. A specialist in the ‘lives takes’ approach to recording, he is best know for his work on Laura Marling’s 2015 album ‘Short Movie’, Peter Doherty’s 2019 album ‘Peter Doherty & The Puta Madres’ and former Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore’s solo outing ‘The Best Day’.

Dan has spent virtually all of his career based out of London’s Urchin Studios, a studio he co-founded in 2007 with long time collaborator Matt Ingram. Dan is also an Executive Director of the Music Producers Guild.

· Dani Bennett Spragg

Engineer/ Mixer

Dani Bennett Spragg began her career in 2013 after a week of work experience with producers Alan Moulder and Flood. From 2014 she worked full time with them on records by Foals, Bear Hands, Nine Inch Nails and many more.

In 2016 she became the in-house engineer at Jimmy Hogarth’s, Hoxa HQ, where she still works regularly. Dani has worked on records with many artists and producers who she greatly admires, including David Holmes, Catherine Marks, Dom Monks and Steve Mackey.

Winner of this year’s 2019 MPG Breakthrough Engineer Of The Year, her most recent projects include albums for Palace, Blair Dunlop and Baxter Dury.

· Danton Supple

Producer/ Engineer/ Mixer

Danton Supple is a London based Record Producer and Mixer. He has over 25 years experience with a diverse and successful range of artists including Coldplay, Ian Brown, Starsailor, Morrisey, Suede, Kylie Minogue, Pattie Smith and U2.

Having trained as a recording engineer at Sarm Studios under producers Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson and Julian Mendelsohn he moved to Westside Studios to work with Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley.

He went freelance in 1994 working with producers Phil Spector, Steve Lillywhite, Gil Norton, Mike Hedges, Steve Osborne, Flood, Ken Nelson, Paul Oakenfold and Brian Eno, shortly after which, he moved into production.

· Dave Eringa

Producer/ Mixer

Dave Eringa is a British record producer & mixer who has been making hit records for over 25 years. He has worked with Manic Street Preachers, Roger Daltrey, The Who, Wilko Johnson, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, The Proclaimers, Idlewild, Calogero, Gyroscope, Ocean Colour Scene, Ash, Suede, Toploader, South and many, many others over a long career that has been marked out by the number of bands that come back to him for multiple albums.

In particular, his association with the Manic Street Preachers has lasted 28 years so far, working on 10 of their 13 albums, & includes producing & mixing both their number 1 singles "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" & "The Masses Against The Classes".
