Who is Sanjay Mortimer?

Sanjay Mortimer was the brilliant, endlessly curious co-founder of E3D and a true force within the 3D printing community who suffered with a learning difficulty but learnt how to make it his superpower. When he tragically passed in 2021, the community lost a visionary. But through the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, his legacy lives on through all the young people we help, supporting the next generation of engineers, makers, and innovators.

Why It Matters?

Neurodivergent thinkers often bring extraordinary strengths, including creativity, innovation, and risk-taking, all vital to engineering and design. Yet, they remain underrepresented in STEM pathways.

The SMF helps neurodiverse young people recognise their potential, build confidence, and pursue careers in engineering. We work with schools, universities, and makerspaces to find our SMF Stars, providing support through funding, mentorship, resources, and training.

Join Us

SMRRF 2026 is more than a festival, it is a celebration of possibility. Come be part of a community driven by curiosity, passion, and purpose.

🎫 All proceeds go directly to supporting neurodiverse young people pursuing pathways in STEM and engineering.
