Dr Mike Allen is a leading geoarchaeologist and environmental archaeologist, with over 35 years of experience, specialising in land snails, soils, sediments, hillwash and co-ordinating palaeo-environmental programmes. He will describe how geoarchaeology can help to paint pictures of prehistoric land-use - giving examples from the chaklands of Stonehenge, Avebury and the downs.

His lecture will take you through the interpretations that snails, soils and sediments can provide and indicate how he goes about these from site to lab', to interpretation.
