Event description

Description

Overview

Sniffer's annual Flood Risk Management Conference will take place on 5-6 February 2018 at Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre.

The conference is a key opportunity for Scotland’s flood risk management community to come together to share knowledge and best practice.

The 2018 general theme is “Working together to manage flood risk,” with four sessional themes:

  • Scotland’s policy landscape for flood risk managers
  • Surface water management
  • Coastal flood risk management
  • Innovation

Through a mixture of plenary presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions, you will be invited to consider and discuss best practice examples, policy considerations and future opportunities across all of these themes.

Who should attend?

This conference is suitable for all those with an interest in flood risk management in Scotland, including local council officers with flooding responsibilities; development planners; government agencies; consultancies; researchers; and representatives from NGOs.

Programme

The outline programme for the conference can be viewed here.

Tickets & Costs

Attendance to the main conference and the marketplace are free of charge. Those wishing to attend the conference dinner on the evening of Monday 5th February must pay a refundable fee to secure their place.

The conference is often oversubscribed, so register quickly to avoid disappointment.

Breakout sessions

The surface water management and innovation sessions will all have a range of breakout sessions for delegates to choose from. When registering please indicate your preference. We will try to allocate all delegates to their first choice, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Marketplace

If you are interested in a stand in the conference Marketplace, please email frm@sniffer.org.uk with the subject 'Marketplace FRM2018' to receive an application form. The deadline to return completed application forms is 15 December 2017.
