Price structure: Here at CKAC, we know how hard it can be to save money for that dream adventure, so that’s why we offer a deposit scheme on most of our trips. The idea is that you can pay an initial deposit for your chosen event or trip, in order to reserve your spot, but you are still left with the remainder of the payment, to pay at your own convenience, allowing you more time to save.
Once the deposit of £65 + paypal fees has been paid, and you are ready to pay the remainder of your payment, simply visit our website, using the link: http://katsadventures.com/events/event/snowdonia-adventure/, and choose the ‘remainder’ option from the drop-down list, in order to make the payment. Simple.
Please be aware that the remainder should be paid no later than a month before your trip and can only be made in one full payment. The remainder payment will complete your trip or event payment and will secure your place.
Single room supplement cost £40. Please contact us if you are interested.
Our mountain leader-Dean
I am a Lancashire lad, hailing from the once Victorian mill town of Blackburn. I was lucky enough as a child to be immersed in nature and the countryside, thanks to my rural dwelling relatives. My other passion as a youngster was bicycles and motorbikes, so no surprise that I became an Engineer upon leaving school. Eventually this career took me to Italy for three years, where I learnt many things, most of all how to live and not just work!
I now earn a living as on outdoor pursuits instructor and guide, with my speciality being Mountain Biking. I am based during the summer months in Cumbria, located conveniently between the two National Parks of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. In the winter I like to go on holiday, funnily enough, in the mountains!
Plan of the trip:
We can look into organising car shares to Snowdonia if you wish, otherwise the train journey details are below.
Train from London Euston to Bangor (not included)
Taxis from Bangor to Llanberries (not included, but we will help you get organised and find people to share with) and check in.
Y Lliwedd & Snowdon from Pen-y-passThis is a 7.5 mile moderate to hard walk up to the peak of Snowdon with 915 metres of ascent. This walk offers exceptional mountain scenery not seen by many who make the ascent to Snowdon given its difficulty. The return from Snowdon uses the Pyg track.
I will book us in to eat at a nice restaurant in Llanberris, I will ensure there are plenty of options available. We will also visit a local mead store to do some mead tasting (TBC).
The Traverse of the Glyder Ridge from Ogwen. This walk is roughly the same distance as the first day. It visits the two highest peaks in the Glyder range and will also include the magnificent and ever popular Tryfan. This is known as the walk to do in the area of the Glyders. Starts at Ogwen Cottage which has ample parking and a cafe. About a 30 minute drive from the hostel. After this hike (around 6-7 hours) we will be able to return to London so that we get back for late evening.
Train Bangor to London Euston
Accommodation: twins and quads on first come first served basis so book quickly!
Llanberis is the perfect base to stay and explore Snowdonia. It is Snowdon’s village and the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. It is surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers and also a short drive from the beautiful coastline. Breathtaking views are everywhere and the scenery simply stunning ! it is a great place from which to explore the magic and beauty of Snowdonia.
Llanberis is also an area rich in history, myths and legends and has a strong cultural heritage. Take a walk around the Slate quarries of Llanberis and you will easily take yourself back in time to imagine when this area roofed the world! Or further back still, imagine when the whole valley was covered in snow and ice which shaped and carved this beautiful landscape which is your to explore.
Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at 1085 metres is the highest mountain in Wales (and England), and her beauty dominates the surrounding hills. From the summit, on a clear day, you can see the robust mountains of Snowdonia, Ynys Môn (Anglesey), Pembrokeshire and Ireland.
It should take us about 5-6 hours to ascend and descend. We will take the easy route up.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you have any doubts, queries or would like to chat to anyone about the best options for you, please contact us via email on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone: 0749 642 82 37. Our lines are open Monday to Friday 10 am - 6 pm and we will get back to you within 3 working days. Please note that messages sent through any other channels may not be picked up.
What's the refund policy?
As you know the group operates a no refund policy due to most of the costs having to be paid in advance. However we understand that sometimes things come up and there is nothing you can do, you just have to cancel.
In this case we would be happy to allow you to sell your place to one of your friends. No direct swaps will be accepted though, so your friend needs to buy the place directly from us and only then we will process a refund to you. No one will be admitted on the trip, unless they pay directly to us.
To make sure we know that the swap will be taking place please email us before your friend signs up and let us know their name and when they will be making the payment. Please include the information about the trip as with over 60 upcoming events and almost 8,000 members we are getting hundreds of emails per day, so we need the correct information to identify it.
Please note that if you forget to let us know before your friend signs up, the swap will be invalid and will be treated as any other sale. Once the payment is done by them, please email us the details of original transaction (so that it can be found in the bank account/paypal account) and where should we be sending refund to.
Admin fee of 10% (minimum £3.50) applies to all refunds. Paypal fees are non refundable. The refund will be processed within 5 working days of the trip the latest.
