Snowdonia Walking Festival: Moel Siabod ‘Capel’s own mountain’
Sun 6 November 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
Moel Siabod ‘Capel’s own mountain’
Full day, high level walk
Everybody loves Moel Siabod, the ascent from Capel Curig is one of the great mountain walks. You ascend gently enough on old slate mine tracks, before striking across rough ground to reach the foot of the Deaer Ddu Ridge, this gives a lovely gentle scramble to the summit, return to Capel can be via the north east ridge or down to Plas y Brenin and along the riverbank.
Meet Tyn y Coed 10.00am. This is a proper high level mountain walk and mountain walking boots and waterproofs along with a good level of fitness will be required. We will return to the Tyn y Coed for 4.00 pm. Circular walk. Packed lunch and drinks needed. This would feel like a very long walk for young children. No dogs. Under 16's only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
