SO YOU WANT TO BE A MARINE ARCHAEOLOGIST? – A look at the work of the Maritime Archaeology Trust and the procedures and technology used by divers in the survey and collection of historical artefacts. Presented by Garry Momber: Director of the Maritime Archaeology Trust
Garry Momber is the Director of the Maritime Archaeology Trust and Director of Maritime Archaeology Ltd. in the UK. He has been a practicing maritime archaeologist for over 20 years during which time he has assisted in the development of the discipline in the UK and overseas. He has led many pioneering project that have been concerned with commercial archaeological practice, training, education, dissemination and capacity building. His area of research expertise has been in relation to archaeological remains within drowned landscapes, working in British waters, particularly the Solent, the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf. He has over 40 publications, has given hundreds of presentations and directed a dozen national and international, high level archaeological projects. He has represented UNESCO as an expert in maritime archaeology in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
