Description

With guest speaker Adrian Cooper from Oxford Economics

We are pleased to invite you to the very first Sobell House Business Breakfast, which is taking place at the Cherwell Boathouse in north Oxford on Thursday February 28th. It is a wonderful venue providing you with a great networking opportunity with a very relevant talk whilst enjoying a fabulous cooked breakfast. A great way to start the day!

The UK’s vote to leave the European Union presents an immense task for all sides to enact. Britain’s departure from the EU is set to have implications for businesses of all sizes and sectors around the UK and as negotiations continue the outcome does not get any clearer. And, of course, Brexit is taking place against a backdrop of increasing uncertainty about the outlook for the global economy and volatility in financial markets.

To help us all make sense of the current Brexit climate and economic prospects, I am delighted to announce that our guest speaker will be leading economist Adrian Cooper who is CEO of Oxford Economics. With their Head Office in Oxford and offices around the world, Oxford Economics employ over 400 people, including 250 economists and analysts.

Adrian Cooper is responsible for coordinating and managing Oxford Economics’ global economic analysis, forecasting and consultancy activities, and overseeing its team based in Oxford, London, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, New York, Philadelphia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Toyyo, Capw Town, Sydney, Mexico Cityand the UAE. He has led Oxford Economics’ work on a wide array of consultancy projects, ranging from policy advice to governments in Europe, the US, Africa, and Asia to detailed analysis of the economic impact of particular industries and investment proposals. Prior to joining Oxford Economics in 1994, Adrian spent the first seven years of his career with HM Treasury.

Adrian will give a stimulating talk supported by the quantitative research study completed by Oxford Economics to provide the information you need to be prepared. This is a great opportunity to hear from a leading thinker on Brexit and the wider economic challenges facing business.

Please do join us for what will be a very interesting and thought provoking breakfast event. Very special thanks to Adrian Cooper for speaking and Johnny Verdin from the Cherwell Boathouse for his generosity and hospitality in hosting our first Sobell House Business Breakfast.
