Social Action Recharge 2019 : The Father’s Heart for the Poor

Speakers: Rachael Bee, Natalie Williams, and Nick & Anna Heasman

Monday 4th February 2pm – Wednesday 6th February 2pm

Are you involved in social action? Do you work with those on the margins of society? If yes, this conference is for you! This is a space to receive teaching on the Father Heart of God, have an opportunity to partner with the Holy Spirit in caring for the poor as well as worship, and a space to network and reflect within the stunning grounds of Ashburnham Place.

More about the speakers...

Rachael Bee is the co-founder and manager of Bristol Hospitality Network, a local charity hosting and supporting destitute asylum seekers. She started off hosting in 2009 in one of the first households and has since then welcomed over 30 people to live with her for anything from 2 months to 3 years, sometimes cramming 5 guests into her 3 spare rooms at a time! She is on a journey of welcoming Jesus in the stranger, learning how to live in and show grace in a world full of complex people and situations.

Natalie Williams grew up in a working class family in Hastings, one of the most deprived areas of Britain. She was the first person in her family to go to university. After graduating, she worked as a journalist in London and Beijing, before returning to Hastings. Natalie now works for King’s Church and for the national social action charity Jubilee+. She is passionate about Christians and churches being a force for good in their communities, and particularly making a difference to those in need. Natalie is co-author of The Myth of the Undeserving Poor (2014) and A Church for the Poor (2017).

Nick & Anna Heasman head up Care and Recovery at Ashburnham Place helping to facilitate how this amazing resource can be gift to those on the margins of society. They have a burden for seeing God’s kingdom break out against injustice and are passionate about empowering individuals to make a positive contribution to society. They have 3 incredible children and are looking forward to sharing what God has been speaking to them about during their 10 weeks in Zimbabwe.
