Event description

Description

Learn how to plan, run and evaluate social and therapeutic horticulture sessions for people with a range of support needs. We will cover garden design considerations, planning and running a session, working with volunteers, safeguarding, confidentiality, boundary management and listening skills, how to evaluate the effectiveness of the programme and finally how to get referrals to your programme.

Trainer - David Lloyd and Maria Devereaux

David Lloyd has been working at Sydenham Garden delivering social and therapeutic horticulture (STH) for the last 5 years. For the last three years he has been project coordinator of the Growing Lives programme. He leads on development and delivery of a suit of STH programmes for people with a range of mental ill health, including a programme designed specifically for young Tamil men suffering from PDSD. He also leads on the integration of vocation training and employability into the therapeutic programmes.

If you have any mobility requirements, please contact capitalgrowth@sustainweb.org before booking to discuss your particular needs.
