Social Care Reviews:a New Opportunity for OTs
Wed 21 June 2017, 09:30 – 16:00 BST
The introduction of the care act has meant that local authorities have a duty to assess anyone who appears to have needs for care and support, as well as review existing provision annually.
Occupational therapists are ideally suited to this role, utilising their specialist skills in assessment to recommend care packages, assistive equipment and signposting to other services.
Topics covered, supported by group work to put things in context:
Overview of the Care Act and compliance
Social Care and Support Assessments
Mental Capacity Act Assessments
Managed care requests
How OT skills fit in with conducting these assessments
This one day course will introduce you to and prepare you to undertake this type of work..... an opportunity to use your OT skills in an alternative setting.
