About this event

Business • Non Profit

For the launch of the Social Economy Network Sessions, we are delighted to welcome John Wills, founder of Power2Inspire, a social enterprise that runs inclusive sport events for everyone. Hear about John’s inspirational story of forming and growing the organisation, as he talks about Power2Inspire: a tale of passion, commitment and bobbing about in water.

The session will include:

  • Creating an organisation: through passion, motivation, perseverance, commitment and vision
  • Growing through osmosis: by knowing your USP and being the only one delivering this work in your area
  • How to survive and thrive: choosing the financial models that work for you
  • Valuable volunteering: creating opportunities that work for your organisation and volunteers

What is the Social Economy Network?

The Social Economy Network aims to connect, inspire and strengthen South Kesteven’s social economy. This programme of free online events will provide a relaxed and purposeful space for peer learning, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

Who is the Social Economy Network for?

The sessions are open to all organisations working with a social purpose in the social economy, including:

  • Charities and voluntary groups of all sizes
  • Social enterprises and CICs looking to connect and learn
  • Community-based organisations seeking inspiration and collaboration opportunities
  • Sector leaders and practitioners who want to stay updated on best practices.

Places are free and booking is essential. Joining instructions will be sent ahead of the session.

Sign up for other network sessions. We will meet online at noon on the third Thursday of the month, between October 2025 and March 2026. Each session will be themed, with guest speakers and practical discussions on issues that matter most to local organisations.

The series is delivered in partnership with South Kesteven District Council and funded by the UK Government Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
