This series of workshops positions social enterprise within the social, entrepreneurial and political context in the UK and other countries. Participants will get a clear and practical approach to starting, managing and growing social enterprises.
The journey begins with a vision to address a social or environmental issue. A compelling vision, value frameworks and motivational and inspiring leadership are needed to propel the enterprise forward. There is more to social enterprise than profit. We will explore the differences and similarities with other organisational structures as well as the practical issues of starting and growing social enterprises. We will also look at balancing the sometimes conflicting demands of creating multiple outputs, dealing with numerous stakeholders, governance and ownership issues.
Start up and growth finance, financial management and the importance and methods of capturing and reporting social or environmental impact will also be covered. The practical management issues of social enterprise business models, strategy, business planning, marketing, procurement and supply chains will be addressed.
