Event description

Description

For many community organisations, social enterprises and smaller charities, the prospect of collecting, collating and reporting their social impact can be daunting. Others may not be convinced of the benefits at all.

In fact, knowing the difference your organisation makes to people’s lives or society is not difficult, time consuming or costly. If done well, reporting on your social impact can inspire staff and volunteers, give confidence to stakeholders, investors and funders and be the mechanism through which future funding can be secured.

Join us on Tuesday 18th June from 7–8.30pm at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum in Swadlincote for a brief introduction to Social Impact. Refreshments will be served from 6.45pm.

This informal yet informative event will:

  • Explore what Social Impact really is

  • Dispel the myths and misconceptions about it

  • Explain why, regardless of your size, knowing the difference you make to society and the people around you is so important

Roger Moors, MD of SDCVS will lead the discussion and debate, presenting information and ideas about the latest thinking on the subject.

This event is part of the national Small Charity Week and will be followed later in the year by a series of masterclasses delivered by SDCVS examining Social Impact Reporting in more detail.

Places are limited and available on a first come basis so please reserve your ticket ASAP.

Roger Moors, the newly appointed MD at SDCVS has presented widely on the subject of social impact in his previous role as Chief Development Officer at Social Investment Scotland. He brings a wealth of experience in the sector having previously established two trading social enterprises and financed numerous community organisations, many of whom were helped to articulate their impact.
