Event description
Social media puts pressure on children and young people, but when do we know if it's a real problem and how can we help?

About this Event

The cyber world is moving at such a fast pace, and our children know more than we do about it which often poses a problem in understanding how we keep them safe.

We know for sure that many young people report significant harm to their mental health and emotional wellbeing, but how can we spot the signs that mean they need our intervention and/or extra support.

We are delighted to welcome back Jennifer and Nikki from Bridge the Gap Mental Health Support who aim to cover the following in this wonderfully insightful webinar:

  • Teen Brain Development - why they are vulnerable to images sent via social media
  • Pros and Cons of Social Media and The Online World
  • Filters V's Reality
  • Signs that Social Media is Impacting Mental Health
  • Cyberbullying and Sexting

As always we welcome your questions on the night, and the webinar will be available to view for 30 days to those who are registered.

How do our webinars work?

Once you have purchased a ticket, you will be sent a link to register for the event on ZOOM. (If you don't already have it downloaded on your phone/tablet/computer then this link will prompt the download, it is free to download). It’s really important you register as soon as possible, as we manually check everyone in for safeguarding and security reasons.

Once registered you will be sent a link to join us on the night, almost as if the 'room to the door' is opened for you and you're checked in.

If you encounter any issues please tell us in advance by emailing events@sunshine-support.org.uk as we cannot action technical problems on the night due to co-presenting the workshop.

Please take some time to familiarise yourself with this format in advance so that the process of joining us on the night is seamless for you.

The video of the webinar will be available to watch for 30 days after the webinar takes place, so if you need to leave the webinar at any time or can't make it at that specific time you can watch again at your leisure.
