Event description

Description

Social media is an increasingly important part of academic life that can help in promoting your work, networking, increasing your profile and demonstrating impact.

However, busy as we all are, it can seem difficult to find time to start or develop your online presence, especially if you are new to social media.

This free one-hour workshop will help you promote your professional practice using your online presence. It will highlight core concepts, motivations and workflows that are designed to stop common misunderstandings in online presence, and that encourage a progressive and positive approach to building networks that add value to our career goals. Common social media tools will be discussed but this talk is aimed at setting sound strategic goals rather than offering in depth tutorials.

It is specifically aimed at researchers and academics within the University. Come as a complete social media beginner, or bring questions about your current online presence.

The workshop will be followed by lunch and time for networking.
