Event description

Description

This event is a workshop teaching social network analysis (SNA) as part of the DataFest Fringe.

There are two identical sessions, please choose either the morning OR afternoon.

SNA is a tool to illustrate how different items are connected together. These are often shown as nodes describing people with edges showing how the nodes link together. At its very core social network analysis uses data to help make connections, help people collaborate and enable more people benefit from these collaborations.

During this workshop we will teach participants to transform a raw dataset into an interactive social network graph using open source tools. They will be able to take this work away to apply it on their own data.

The target audience for this event are the public, private and third sectors. Organisers of events are particularly welcome as network analysis of their participants can help build relationships.

This event is part of DataFest 2018: datafest.global
