Social Prescribing Seminar

About this Event

Social prescribing is one of the key initiatives within the national NHS long term plan, which looks to make fundamental improvements to NHS services. The work of Hertfordshire and West Essex Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) in this area is highlighted as a case study in the NHS long term plan: https://www.longtermplan.nhs.uk/case-studies/social-prescribing

Already much good work is going on in Hertfordshire. We feel this is a good time to get together to start thinking about how we can put cultural activities in the centre of the developing social prescribing programme.

The seminar will begin with a presentation by Tim Anfiligoff, NHS Herts Valleys CCG and NHSE Social Prescribing Facilitator, East of England, who will outline the Social Prescribing structure in Hertfordshire. There will also be information on how Social Prescribing works from the point of view of a health professional, case studies, an introduction to Hertfordshire Cultural First Aid Kit and examples of cultural social prescribing activities. The seminar has been organised by the Year of Culture 2020 ‘Art of Wellbeing Group’ which has been set up to champion Objective 3 of the Year of Culture:‘To increase wellbeing and a sense of belonging through arts, culture and heritage. We would like to thank NHS Herts Valleys CCG and HCC Adult Care Services for funding this event.
