The Chronic Illness Inclusion Project is a member of The Commission on Social Security, led by Experts by Experience. The Commission has identified 8 ideas for a better benefits system. The proposals are available at this link.

The Commission is undertaking a public consultation to see what people think of the proposals.

As part of the consultation, the Chronic Illness Inclusion Project is hosting an open discussion about the proposals on Zoom:

Thursday 7th October 2020, 3pm-5pm (including access break)

The session will:

• Explain the background to the Commission on Social Security

• Talk through the proposals for a better benefits system

• Have small group discussions using zoom breakout rooms

• Question & Answer

About the Commission on Social Security

The Commission on Social Security is a project set up to find out how to improve the social security/welfare benefits system.

The project is led by Experts by Experience. All the Commissioners have lived experience of benefits.

The Commissioners come from a range of user led organisations speaking up for people on Benefits, and Deaf and Disabled people.
