Are you passionate about building a better society? Do you want to use your skills and ideas to find solutions to global problems?
We’re looking for people who believe they can make a difference in the world, from any background or degree discipline to join a unique 24-hour hackathon. This year Social Storm is taking place on: 11-12 November 2016 at 13:00, at University of Sheffield Enterprise.
You will be working in teams comprised of students from other universities to find a sustainable solution to the real challenges that face our global society. Using virtual communication tools so you do not need to leave the campus, we are showing how technology is bringing the world closer together, and how everyone can play a role in helping communities around the world.
Within the intensive 24 hours you will need to work with your international team to develop a business plan to help solve the social issues, and submit a video pitch to the team of judges. Plus, there will be a range of mentors to tap into for advice.
Social Storm is a great addition to your CV and an opportunity to develop your enterprise and employability skills. Each member of the winning team will also receive a £100 cash prize.
Social Storm 2016 will be joining together 15+ universities, setting two social challenges and bringing together over 200 young people.
