Join us for our summer series learning how to succeed on social media, this session focusing on YouTube with visibility coach Anita Wong.

About this event

This month’s speaker is Anita Wong, freelance visibility coach. Anita loves BMX racing, has four amazing daughters, is actually a former nurse (she used to work at the old Radcliffe Infirmary in Headington) and - thanks to watching Jaws too many times - has a major fear of sharks.

She’ll be handing us the tools we need to move beyond seeing YouTube simply as a storage space for videos we promote elsewhere, and instead start strategically using the platform itself to engage and grow new audiences.

We'll be looking at everything from how to organise your channel (creating playlists, etc) and explore different content options (like live streaming and YouTube Shorts) to the value of ads and how to optimise your videos for visibility so your content gets found - both on and off the platform.

She'll also be giving us behind-the-scenes tips like helping us to understand the algorithm, breaking down YouTube Analytics, and sharing some useful tools to manage comments and other interactions with the YT community.

Our Social Summer series is also covering Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter - so check out the other events on our organiser page 👇 if you want to up your game on those platforms too!

How our gatherings usually go

🍻 6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and - let's face it - probably at least some small talk about the weather

🧑‍🏫 6.15-7.15pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human, plus some Q&A and informal group discussion

🤓 7.15-7.30pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)

🍻 7.30-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat (hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point)

Hosted by local brand voice crafter Bethany Joy, in partnership with wonderfully-lovely HR and talent specialists Pink Giraffe and the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.

*Tickets are free (the best flavour) but it's still super helpful if you book one, so we've got a rough idea of who's coming on the night. Hope to see you there 😁
