Description

Workshop– Identifying Social Value within your organisation

Overview

In society today, there is an increased awareness and focus on the direct, indirect and wider effects of organisations delivering services. This has been influenced by greater awareness of the environment and the increase in ethical decision making that is influencing how people support, trust and purchase from organisations. This is in addition to the UK legislation in the form of the (Public Sector) Social Value Act 2013, which defines that public-sector commissioning activity should consider social, environmental and financial social value when issuing contracts.

In the UK today, there are a range of methodologies that can be adopted to measure and report organisations impact and value. The workshop therefore adopts a blended approach including Social Return on Investment (SROI), Local Multiplier Effect (LM3), together with both qualitative and quantitative accounting methods.
