Welcome to a small scale wine and cheese tasting with the focus on British cheese and sparkling wine. This relaxed and social gathering is designed for travellers who enjoy food, drink, and good company.
You will enjoy 4 artisan cheeses paired with 4 sparkling wines, including at least 2 from England. For those who want to go fully local, the British Sparkling Only option (+£10 supplement) features wines that showcase why English sparkling has gained international fame. In recent years, many Champagne houses have invested in English vineyards, recognising the same chalky soils and cool climate that produce world-class sparkling wines from the traditional Champagne grapes.
Together, we will taste, compare, and share thoughts on each pairing, with plenty of time for conversation and connection. The aim is not only to enjoy the food and drink, but also to create a warm and social atmosphere in a small group setting in a local flat near Tower of London.
After the wine and cheese tasting, we will stroll through St Katharine Docks towards Tower Bridge and share a British drink while standing outdoors with an open view of the bridge. For those who prefer not to stand, there is some public seating available nearby, although it may not accommodate everyone.
As part of this event, we will also be taking a few pictures to capture the spirit of the evening. It will be very natural and discreet, but please only book if you are comfortable being photographed in a social setting.
What’s included:
- 4 artisan cheeses
- 4 sparkling wines (2+ British, or all British with supplement)
- Final British cocktail with Tower Bridge view
- Tasting notes and pairing guidance
The main host has WSET Level 2 and 3 with distinction but please do not expect a masterclass but rather hopefully a less formal tasting where everyone is welcome no matter your knowledge. Please also be aware that this event is held in a private apartment. Details on how to attend will be sent to the registered email. The images below are from previous tastings in different locations throughout the years.
