Event description
An event part of the Department of Social Work and Social Care Seminar Series.

About this Event

Speaker: Professor Philip Anderson , OTH Regensburg

This presentation will aim to give an overview of developments in migration and integration policy in Germany relating to asylum seekers and refugees over the last few years. A specific focus will be put on vocational training opportunities and labour market access for young refugees coming to Germany, in particular in Bavaria.

The broader context of social educational and labour market integration will be addressed with emphasis on the role of social workers and the voluntary sector. Points of comparison between the German and the UK context will conclude the lecture and, hopefully, provide stimulus for a discussion from a comparative perspective.
