About this event

  • 1 hour

As of March this year, new statutory instruments have been made concerning the Equality Act 2010, which make specific Welsh public bodies subject to the public sector duty regarding socio-economic inequalities (referred to as the Socio-economic Inequality Duty) in Wales.

The duty requires prescribed authorities, when "making decisions of a strategic nature" about how to exercise their functions, to have regard to the desirability of exercising them in a way that is designed to reduce the inequalities of outcome resulting from socio-economic disadvantage.

In this session we will cover:

• What is the Socio-economic Inequality Duty?

• Which public bodies does the Duty apply to and why?

• How can those relevant public bodies prepare to comply with the Duty?

• Which type of decisions will be classed as being of a “strategic nature”?

• What is a socio-economic disadvantage?

• Enforcement for non-compliance.

This is an online on-demand event which you can complete at a time and date convenient for you.

You will be sent log-in details to access the event.
