About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

In this one hour drawing workshop, we will be using watercolour paints, or pencils, to explore objects from nature. Observing the environment as it transitions from one season to another.

You will be guided through a series of exercises to support in exploring your object from different perspectives. Visually dissecting the object will allow us to see it beyond its overall immediate form, but instead through the subtleties of pattern, colour and shapes.

The workshop will be hosted by Phoebe Moss. Phoebe is an Artist with a Textiles background and currently works in secondary education. She is interested in the holistic benefits of visual arts. Her background in Textiles has lead to the discovery and appreciation of Pattern, this has lead to an interest in the broad, cross disciplinary and both creative and methodical way of exploring subjects.

For this workshop you will need the following equipment:

  • Paper (thicker paper will work better, but any is good !)
  • Watercolour paints or pencils.
  • Object
  • Pot of water
  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil (graphite, colours)
  • Tissue or rag

Frequently asked questions

Will this workshop be recorded?

I'm afraid not

I can't afford the fee.

Please get in contact :)

I don't have a natural object, can I still join?

Yes :)

I don't have watercolour paints or pencils, can I still join?

You could use ink pens with water (biros and the like do not work), using either a paintbrush or cotton bud to use as a drawing tool. The addition of water can alter the pen quality, so maybe don't use if they are precious. Chalks could work well too :)
