Soil and Compost Doctor training
Event Information
Description
You are invited to a day of Soil and Compost Doctor training, Saturday 17th March 2018, 10am to 4pm, at the beautiful Knightshayes Gardens, Tiverton
This hands on day is brought to you by the Tiverton Area Communities Transition (TACT) Celebration of Soil group, and Community Action Groups (CAG) Devon. Participants will come away with:
- An understanding of what soil is, why we need to look after it, life in the soil and why compost is such a vital part;
- An understanding of the composting process, including composting garden and food scraps, how to demonstrate composting to others and how to answer frequently asked questions;
- Access to display materials to demonstrate composting;
- Links to groups and areas where composting support is needed;
- The opportunity to take part in the Celebration of Soil events in 2018, and be part of a network of Soil and Compost Dr’s in Mid-Devon.
This day is part of the Celebration of Soil year, and one of several events throughout 2018. No prior knowledge is needed, just enthusiasm for soil and compost and willingness to spread the word.
The cost is just £5, and includes lunch and materials.
