Community Food Systems Thinking
The objective of this presentation is to detail the series of three workshops conducted in the Latrobe Valley, which aimed to apply community food systems thinking to enhance food system sustainability and resilience. The presentation will highlight the collaborative effort of local stakeholders, community members, and Deakin researchers to develop a visual system map that illustrates the interconnected factors influencing access to healthy and sustainable food. Through rich discussions, we developed a shared understanding of the barriers and opportunities present in our food system, highlighting the importance of local knowledge and experiences.
Key outcomes from these workshops included the creation of a detailed system map and a collection of prioritised action ideas specifically designed to tackle food insecurity and promote healthy eating within the community.
