Event description

Description

Tuesday 15th August, Inverness, 10am–4pm

A practical one-day event looking at soils, fertilisers and rotations for horticultural crops.

The day will include outdoor practical sessions including soil physical assessment, crop choice and rotations for polytunnels, and soil fertility.

Speakers include Audrey Litterick (author of Horticulture: A Handbook for Crofters) and Maggie Sutherland of the Natural Veg Company.

If you’re a farmer, grower or land manager, book your free place now: it’s open to all but we’re expecting this session to fill up quickly, and booking is absolutely essential.

Use this online form, or if you prefer you can call Jane on 0131 666 2474, or email jdingwall@soilassociation.org. We'll give you exact venue details when you book.

If you aren't a farmer, grower or landmanager, your place will be charged at £40 + VAT - please call Jane on 0131 666 2474, or email jdingwall@soilassociation.org to arrange with us rather than using this online form.

Funding for this activity is made available through the SRDP Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Fund (which is jointly funded by the Scottish Government and the European Union), with partner funding from Quality Meat Scotland, Forestry Commission Scotland, Innovative Farmers and The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation.
