About the workshop
This class is an introduction to the technique of Marlisle (combining marl and Fair Isle). You’ll create a circular swatch from a choice of designs provided and use this as an entry point into understanding the system. Suitable for a range of skill levels, but perhaps most exciting for knitters who have experimented with stranded colourwork and intarsia and understand the limitations of these existing techniques. The aim is to send you off inspired.
Participants: 12 (Fri) / 12 (Sat)
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials: Bring 4ply weight yarn in 2 contrasting, but harmonious colours, 100% wool (not super wash treated). 3.5mm circular needles long enough for magic loop or DPNs. Bring a range from 2.5–4.5mm, to adjust for tension. Pencil, scissors, ruler or tape measure.
Anna Maltz is an avid sweaterspotter and writes a regular column in PomPom Quarterly. She is a Londoner, who knits on her travels and designs patterns infused with the joy of making (and penguins). Her teaching focuses on inspiring independence and experimentation.
