On 13th October, The Draper’s Arms will host the second in a series of Solidarity Suppers taking place across London this year, raising both funds and awareness for Gaza.
The suppers—started by Matt Emerson and Ben Marks, Co-Founders of Perilla and Morchella, and now joined by communications agency founder Gemma Bell—bring together friends from across the hospitality industry for collaborative charity meals. These events highlight the urgent reality that, as an industry built around food, we cannot turn a blind eye to the man-made famine in Gaza.
There is always a strange feeling asking guests to feast on amazing food and wine to raise money for people in desperate straits. But this is what we do and the tool that we have. Given the historic horror being perpetuated on the innocent in Gaza, doing nothing isn’t an option and crying out on social media can seem so helpless and inadequate. We cannot simply shrug hopelessly at live streamed genocide and deliberate starvation - we must act. We are so looking forward to having these talented chefs cooking at the Drapers and know it will be a great evening. Bravo to Ben and Matthew for organising these Solidarity Suppers. We will be giving our guests the opportunity to not only pay the value of the meal they are receiving, but also to add more to do as much as possible to help.
Joining the evening to share their cooking and support the cause will be:
• Abby Lee - Mambow
• Aurelien Durand – The Drapers Arms
• Ben Marks - Perilla & Morchella
• Nick Bramham – Quality Wines
• Sertac Dirik – ex Mangal II
• Patrick Powell – One Club Row
• Emily Skimming - Morchella
Tickets for the dinner are £100 minimum per seat with all proceeds from ticket sales and drinks sales on the night of donated equally to Amos Trust and Medical Aid for Palestinians(MAP).
