SOLIDWORKS 2015 Launch & Customer Day
Thursday, 30 October 2014 from 08:30 to 17:00 (GMT)
The main focus of the day will be to showcase the SOLIDWORKS 2015 release. Our expert technical team will detail some of the many enhancements that come in this, the 23rd major release of SOLIDWORKS since its launch in 1995.
Let us show you how SOLIDWORKS 2015 inspires innovation for product creation by:
∙ Improve everyday productivity
∙ Optimize your work process
∙ Reduce operations costs
∙ Solve more design challenges
In the afternoon there will be technical sessions covering tips, tricks and best practices that will make your design process in SOLIDWORKS even more efficient.
During the day we will be exhibiting some of the best 3D Technology available including print and scanning and you will have a chance to test these products for yourself.

Break Out Sessions;
How to market your products
Marketing your products successfully using SOLIDWORKS to create Photo Realistic Renderings and Animations. The session will show you how to maximise value with SOLIDWORKS Composer Animations and Build Instructions and Repair and Maintenance Manuals.
Sheet Metal & weldments
The break out session will run through modelling a playground slide that has a weldment frame which supports a sheet metal slide. The session will provide an understanding how to create 3D sketches that will be used as the paths for a customised weldment profile. To complete the model a slide will be modelled showing various sheet metal techniques to bring the two models together.
Ensuring you have the best design
Using our suite of simulation tools to validate we have the best design that is fit for purpose -
creating virtual prototypes and undertaking a range of 'what-if' scenarios. This helps in many ways, increasing safety and quality of the design and virtually removing the need for physical prototypes, thus lowering cost further.
Reverse Engineering Products
Taking a real object and creating a SOLIDWORKS model with editable features, followed by reusing CAD data from other design tools within SOLIDWORKS.
SOLIDWORKS Tips & tricks
Our popular tips and tricks session returns for another year! Join Ed as he show you a variety of tips, tricks and interesting ways to use tools within SOLIDWORKS.
Effective plastic part design
Exploring some of the great fastening feature tools; a set of widely unknown commands specially designed for the internals of plastic parts. It will also examine a number of great evaluation tools which can be used to analyse the designs of your injection moulded products (the thickness analysis tool as one example). The final stage of the breakout session will investigate some of the fantastic mould flow analysis tools available in SOLIDWORKS.
