Who is the event for?

It's for single people living in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We expect people to be aged between 35 - 55 for this event, although this is just a guide.

Question 2

Do I have to take part in Speed Dating?

Accepted Answer

No, it's totally optional. It's just a bit of fun and lots of people enjoy it - equally if it isn't for you, then don't worry, there will be lots of people for you to meet and mingle with at the event.

Question 3

I'm married and have loads of single friends - I've got FOMO - can I come?

This is a space for single people, but we know that lots of people might feel more comfortable with a trusted friend coming along. So, if you're married and are supporting a single friend, then you'd be more than welcome to come.

Question 4

Do I have to arrive at 3pm?

No, everyone has other stuff to do, so you can drop in as and when you can. Obviously the longer you're at the event, the more lovely people you'll meet. But it's not school; you're welcome to come and go as you please.

Who are your Solo Connects MK hosts?

Accepted Answer

Solo Connects MK is run by two fabulous local women (who also run businesses). Samantha Poole is the founder of Ask Go To and runs the highly successful Mum 2 Mum Facebook Group, with over 25,000 members across Milton Keynes. Rachel Allen is a marketing consultant and a 'Tinder Veteran' !!

Where can I park?

There is plenty of parking near the hotel - make sure you are in a pay and display bay that's coloured PURPLE as it's the cheapest rate in MK. Parking is generally free after 6pm, but please check. You can park and pay using the RingGo app in most places across CMK.

Question 7

I'm not hetrosexual - are these events for me?

Yes, we are simply creating a space for single people to get together to connect. You may make brilliant friendships. You may find the love of your life. The more people we bring into this space, the greater chance you've got of meeting your person. Please email if you have any questions about this.

Is this for friendship or dating?

We are here for both. We say it's 'friendship first, dating second' so the idea is to get to know people through our events and mixers and go from there. At our events, we have badges - smily faces for friendship, love hearts for romance and rainbows if you are LGBTQ.

I'm nervous...

You'll be welcomed by Sam and Rachel - lots of people say they are nervous, but find that it's very welcoming and relaxed once they arrive! We will run a few ice-breakers and social games, but there's no pressure to join in. There will be lots of time to chat and connect, it will be pretty relaxed.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely - the more the merrier. They just need to book and pay for their own ticket. Or, you can book and pay on their behalf (what a great gift!)
