A number of ports globally are taking advantage of local renewable energy from wind or solar to power electrolysis (performing a chemical reaction in water to separate hydrogen from oxygen) and producing green hydrogen.

To supply these users and governments globally are incentivising the production of green hydrogen with the ambition that growth in production will result in economies of scale and cost reductions similar to those already achieved by solar PV and offshore wind.
