The Generation Scotland team is inviting you along to our virtual event to meet the team, hear all about global charity and the plans currently underway to launch our first AWS Cloud Engineering free 12 week boot-camp in Scotland in partnership with Princes Trust.

This event is for anyone who works with people between the ages of 18-29 who might benefit from Generation's free training opportunities. Whether you are another non profit, an educational institution or community group - we would love to meet you!

Join us to learn about how you can support young people, aged 18-29 to access sector specific skills and certification in the tech industry. Bootcamp graduates are supported to connect with employers to gain and sustain life changing employment opportunities, many earning a minimum of £25,000 per annum to £40,000 starting salary.

During the event we will be joined by guest speakers who will talk directly about their Generation candidate experience and employer opportunities in the ever changing digital world.

Generation UK and Ireland have been supporting young people to gain access to sector specific skills and certification in the tech industry across the UK and Ireland for 3 years and launching now in Scotland. We work in partnership with Amazon Web Services, JP Morgan, and Princes Trust nationally to assist young people gain and sustain life changing opportunities.

Our offer covers Glasgow and Edinburgh city locations for potential employment opportunities, recruiting across several local authorities in Scotland that are within commutable distance to access all vacancies after full completion of the 12-week boot camp.

The launch of our first Scottish 12-week programme for March 22 will be held virtually assisted by mentors and instructor lead with a holistic view of supporting our learners in a person-centred approach.

Key Information:-

Free training and qualification: You’ll learn all you need to be successful in a cloud technology career – from the coding languages & technical knowledge of cloud computing to the behavioural and mindset skills that will help you achieve your potential. At the end of the programme you’ll be ready to take your AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification – and we’ll fund you to do it.

Connect with employers: At the end of the programme, Generation will connect you with employers hiring for cloud and DevOps engineer roles, support you through your application, and help you transition into your working life.

Mentor and Employability support during and 6 months post programme

Continue to receive your benefits if you are receiving Universal Credit or other work-related benefits such as JSA or ESA, we will work with you to make sure you continue to receive these during the programme.

Laptop and wi-fi provided if required to access our fully remote programmes

Eligibility Criteria:-

Applicants must meet the following and provide proof to support this information:

• Aged 18-29 years
• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Not in Education, Training or full time employment
• Must not possess a completed university degree
• Must live within Scotland and a reasonable travel distance to Glasgow or Edinburgh
• Must be available Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm to engage with training as well as be prepared to progress into employment after full completion of the course.
• Can demonstrate your interest in a career in technology
