Somerset: A Child Friendly County

About this event

Join the Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership’s session for an exploration of Leeds status as a ‘Child-Friendly City’: the building block of what has become known as Restorative Practice with Children and Families. It is said to have had lots of unanticipated benefits as well for the economy and resurgence of the City as a regional centre.

Somerset’s Independent Scrutineer, Mark Peel, will interview the former Director of Children’s Services in Leeds, Steve Walker, with a view to separating fact from fiction. With questions posed from across the Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership, Mark will try to determine how far the ‘Child-Friendly City’ approach is relevant to our very different aspiration to be a ‘Child Friendly County’.
